IF RED WAS BLUE

March 26, 2025 by Avery Robinson

Living in the unknown can feel exhausting. What can you believe in when the system making the rules has eaten its own face off? Live in the radical space. Journey through the world with rebellion in your heart. Love in spite because you know those who hate have lived only a fraction of the human experience.

If Red was Blue, would you ponder its origins? How long would it take to realize that our liberation is connected. If up is Down, I don't wanna be Right. Left hand got caught like a moth to a flame, drawn to the inequities of their forefathers. Today's Negro said it's on sight.

And though you brandish your chains and whips. The collective will resist. If Red was Blue you'd see that my blood runs deeper than Hate. Forever eternal ancestors on Deck. We bind you in the name of the spirit. No mere mortal shall escape the Judgement of Time.

LIKE NO OTHER SOUL BEFORE

November 04, 2021 by Avery Robinson in Conceptual art

Have you ever wanted to know what the shape of your soul looked like? Imagine finding a shape in this world that resonated with you on a spiritual level. Now, picture being able to own a copy of your souls shape. Sounds groovy right? With this project my goal is to create as many unique handmade shapes as possible, that can be traded like Pokemon cards, amongst participants in an attempt to find your #soulshape. No one soulshape is similar. The purpose for this project is to remind the individuals who participate, of their own uniqueness. No one human is the same, and that is what makes you special! You are 1 of 1, much like your soulshape. My vision is to build a community around this concept, a world where everyone realizes the beauty of being different and celebrating those differences in a meaningful way.

The first 10 soulshapes will be distributed amongst my friends and family. Each soulshape will be signed by me and will feature a word or phrase of my choosing that embodies the soulshape. Each participant that receives a soulshape can either keep their shape or connect with other participants via the hashtag #soulshape on whatever social platform you use, and trade their soulshape for one another's. If you feel like multiple soulshape's match your soul, don't worry collect as many as you would like.

Each participant after the initial first 10 soulshapes will need to provide a mailing address and email address + $5 entry fee in order to participate.

The beautifully excruciating pain of being Born an Artist

April 02, 2018 by Avery Robinson

When you figure out that your path in life is to be an artist you start to find hard facts and truths about pursuing such a career. The main one being, can I support myself financially doing what i'm most passionate about? The answer is not so simple. Currently i work in the Information Technology field as a means to support my passion... ART! While a 9 to 5 is not ideal for me I do enjoy this line of work as it is low stress on my mental health and I feel happy with the current company I am working for.

It has been a journey thus far with my Art and maintaining a job to support such endeavors. In the span of 4 years since taking the path of the artiste, I  have created a decent body of work and  I feel comfortable now sharing what I have created and I am looking forward to all the continued growth as an artist and my vision to inspire others like me, to let their creativity run wild and carefree as the wind in a environment conducive to creating art of all forms.
